TPS renewal during Marriage Based AOS processing

What’s your priority date? We submitted our I-130 on 10/20/2024 and 11/01/2024 for the i-485/i765. My EAD got approved dec 27th. I don’t expect my AOS to be approved any time soon. It takes months to potentially a little over a year for AOS.

my PD is 09/22/2024. I'm thinking of applying for EAD with AOS rather than when renewing TPS to save some money as you explained.

Got it. I read through the federal register and it says that if I apply for TPS and EAD during the TPS re-registration period, I'm automatically approved for a 540-day extension of EAD. It doesn't say however anything about applying for EAD after the TPS re-registration period ends, so I asked a live agent and they told me that I can still apply for a TPS EAD after the re-registration window ends. They also said that if I skip a TPS re-registration process I'm still eligible to renew my TPS in a future designation. I'm not fully sure though if live agents are 100% reliable.
