227 days ago I posted about transforming my hellstrip for my wife for Mother’s Day. Well, we got a little sidetracked but I started the solarization process yesterday. We’ll be stripping the grass and planting our native garden in mid-July.

We’ve had this Syringa for a couple years now. This year it just started wilting on some of the branches. No pesticides have been used in our backyard. Grew beautifully the past two years with no issues. Had heavy rain the past couple weeks.

Am I risking damage to our maple tree if I build up the soil around 1/3 of the tree? It’ll probably just be grass or some sort of ground covering (ie not flowers, hostas, etc).
