1970/80s Linghua (carnation) brand watch, a Beijing Watch Factory's Grade 2 watch. In the 1st reply: a link to a discussion of grades and also prices compared to the earnings of regular workers during this era. TL/DR: a watch might cost a worker the rough equivalent of 4 to 12 months salary.

An early 1960s Shanghai a-581, Shanghai Watch Factory's first general distribution wristwatch model. Pre-1964 squat single zuan character. On a vintage Chinese textured nylon strap.

Mid-2000s Shanghai very affordable 35 jewel automatic day-date. Keeps decent time, but the date date mechanism feels shaky. Mind you, it works easily enough and it's quick-set. Mineral crystal. Purchased on Taobao for about $25 in 2011 along with a couple of others at the same price.

A beat up 70s/early 80s Yingchun (Google translate: "return to spring"), Tianjin Watch and Clock Factory's grade 3 brand, which could explain the plain caseback, unsigned crown. The movement is correct: ZTZA was TJWCF's tongji. Remember: TJWCF is not Tianjin Sea-Gull. It's another factory entirely.

Sea-Gull datejust-style watches with striped Tongji movements aren't common. The movements in them are from the early 90s, which does loosely fit an era where Sea-Gull produced, for example, a Sub homage. Conjecture says maybe Shijiazhuang produced the striped movements. After-market case back.
