Attic Found - What is it? 90s MTB
I recently acquired this stunning '90s MTB, but I’m struggling to identify its make and model. There are no markings on the frame, except for the sticker shown in the picture. Here’s what I know about it:
Origin: It came from Germany.
Build Date: The latest it could have been built is 2000, as there are photos of it from that year. I estimate it was made between 1996 and 2000.
Frame Material: The top tube and down tube are carbon, while the seat stays and chainstays are alloy.
Fork: It originally came with a RockShox Indy fork.
Brakes: It was equipped with Magura brakes (not the ones currently on it).
History: It was stripped while locked outside in the mid-2000s, so some of its components have since been replaced with later models.
I’ve already combed through period catalogs from brands like Giant, Trek, Cannondale, Scott, Specialized, Steppenwolf, Schwinn, and others, but with no luck. I initially suspected it might be a Giant MCM-1 or a Trek 9800, but I ruled those out due to differences in frame details.
I’m completely stumped. If anyone can help identify this bike, I’d greatly appreciate it!
