Cut or bulk? Conflict with PT

I am 38F and working mom of 2 kids. I started on and off training alone just a year ago mainly to build muscles but wasnt commited enough.

I have recently hired a PT to help me reach my goals. After a month (12 sessions), i repeated my inBody analysis to find that I did not gain any muscles (not even 100g) but lost 1.1kg of fat.

While I understand this is a good progress, this wasnt what I was aiming for. She had me do intermittent fasting along with training and I was always tired. Colleagues at work also commented how I lost a lot of weight from my face and looked exhausted.

Upon discussing it with my PT, she insists this is what I need to do as it is more important to lose fat now than to gain muscle. She also says it is impossible to gain any muscle in a month time (which I disagree with given my experience with previous trainers).

Should I really be cutting mainly (as PT recommends) or focusing on muscle gain (which is what I want)?

Below are my recent inbody stats: Weight: 60.2kg Height: 164cm Muscle mass: 21.5kg (recommended 22-26.9kg) Body fat: 20.4kg (recommended 11.6-18.5), 33.9% BMR: 1229 kcal Fat distribution in arms and legs are normal but trunk is overweight (10.7kg fat)
