EU Schengen Airport Transit Visa Requirements for UK BRP Holders

I was trying to figure out if I needed an airport transit visa with my UK Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) on a Skilled Worker visa. I thought the exemption was only for Belgium and the Netherlands since they mentioned it on their websites, but I found out it applies to all EU countries!

According to the EU Visa Code Handbook (you can find it on the European Commission’s website, search for “Commission Implementing Decision C(2024) 4319”), it says on page 15 that if you have a valid UK BRP, you don’t need an airport transit visa when passing through any EU airports. It’s a blanket exemption across the Schengen Area.

TL;DR: UK BRP holders don’t need an airport transit visa for EU layovers. The BRP should be enough for transit.
