Now here is a truly unpopular opinion - I want Hegseth to be confirmed

There is no question in my mind that the United States will be immensely and unavoidably damaged over the next four years. My greatest fear is that this damage will not be blindingly obvious before 2028.

The Dems did a decent job of avoiding losing culture war issues while instead focusing on the clear ways in which Hegseth is unfit for office. Now their hands are clean and they can sit back and say "See? I told you so. This is what happens when you fuck a stranger in the ass elect a clown - you get a circus."

I do have my limits, however. I believe that the quality of damage done by Hegseth will ultimately be reversible, or, at the very least, we will be able to get back on track in due time. I'm not so sure about Tulsi Gabbard. She truly could have allegiances to other powers (Russia). I fear her damage could be far more severe.
