Got an SDR job offer!!

I've been lurking in this sub for a while but I'm excited to post that I finally got a job offer as an SDR!! The role is at a big tech company that's known to be great for training (think Microsoft, Hubspot). Months of scrolling this sub, applying to jobs, and interviewing have built up to this moment and I'm so grateful to have been given this opportunity. There was a point during the job search process where I honestly got so demoralized and began rethinking if this was the right career path for me but then everything aligned and I got offered a role that was even better than my expectations. Proof that there's hope for people cold-applying and referrals aren't everything! Definitely think this was a combination of both luck and persistence but I'm truly so thankful everything worked out.

Would love to answer any questions/share more of my job hunt experience to help anyone in search of an SDR role.

I've had a couple of sales roles in the past, all B2C and not in the tech space, and to be honest, never imagined I would ever go down this career path (didn't even learn what tech sales really was until a couple months ago). Does anyone have any advice/tips for navigating this career? I am super enthusiastic about taking on this role and dedicating my best effort to succeeding in this role, but I know a lot of people end up leaving when they discover it's not for them. How many months did it take/how did people realize this wasn't the right space for them? I'm also a bit intimidated because both my race and gender are underrepresented in this industry (tech sales), so I am concerned about overcoming potential challenges to build respect, get promotions, move into leadership, etc. Would love to know if anyone has any knowledge/experience regarding that concern.

Looking forward to starting this new chapter of my life soon! Thanks for reading!!
