Is Serum worth it?

I recently acquired a midi controller, and now I'm looking for vst synths to use on it. Serum by Xfer Records got my attention. Is it worth it? I would like to hear some opinions from people who tried it, pros and cons, and if you know any other software synths you'd like to recommend, I'd be glad to hear your opinion as well!
