Holocaust Survivors and Gaza

I'm curious as to exactly how "never again!" became "let's do it again!". One key subject is holocaust survivors and their supposed moral gravity. I know in the mainstream press in the UK, not too long after October 7th, there were articles with interviews from holocaust survivors, calling for peace and whatnot. Were these people representative of their demographic? I have no exposure to domestic Israeli media, but it's not hard to imagine that their papers were full of mirror-image stories where holocaust survivors called for punitive massacres of Palestinians. Was this the case? Does anybody have any insight or examples?

There is probably a greater point to be made, about how that concept of moral gravity itself is meaningless.
