Are events normally this long?

Hi! I got this game a few months ago and having been playing nearly every day since!

I've enjoyed it a ton but I'm a little put off by the events. The movie events have been going pretty much since I started, and every time it's about to end, another version of the movie stuff begins. And it's been pretty much all I've experienced and seen. I like the movie characters, but I have them all now and have had them for several weeks, but maybe the events are this long in order to give people enough time to max out their cards?

I know that it's finally ending and moving onto the new rockstar blaze event, but is that one going to be just as long (multiple months?)

My favourite thing about this game is how many characters there are but I'm starting to realise it will probably be a long time before I see a lot of those characters if all the events are this long. I might lose interest far before they come back to the game at this rate.

So is the standard? Several months of one theme? (I'm guessing the rockstar theme is next).
