Asked someone how they afford to travel so much

A person on my Facebook always posts a bunch of photos of all the different kinds of places he travels to. Without thinking, I sent him a message asking how he affords to travel so much, because it's something I really want to do as well. (I said hello and how are you first but still) Now I'm worried that maybe I shouldn't have done that, that maybe it was a little rude or "none of my business" you know? What do you think? I feel guilty
