Convince me that the majority of the population won’t become the movie “Her”

People using AI as fake girlfriends was already a niche hobby before ChatGPT. With the explosion of progress over the past few years, the ease of access, and cost of using it has gone down, it’s basically already to the point of imitating a slightly forgetful/liar and human.

Even at 50% the rate of progress over the next years, it could address a lot of peoples emotional needs. There’s already a huge amount of money behind R&D for “adult” robots. That tech could take much longer to become convincing enough, but when it does I can see it growing into a common practice.
