Question about parts and compatibility....

Hello all!

Out of nowhere, I've been having this sudden urge to get into sim racing. I intended to get Logitech's G923 then changed my mind and said I'll just get the Pro wheel instead, now I'm looking at high-end Moza direct drive wheel bases and cockpits from Next Level Racing. In other words, I'm falling deeper and deeper in the rabbit hole.

I play on PC only.

My question is, are all these parts interchangeable? For example, say I want a Moza direct drive base and wheel, Logitech Pro pedals, some random shifter and Moza's handbrake — how do games recognize each and every input and map them correctly?
