Is this normal? First time husky owner, I just adopted him 4 weeks ago to save him from the pound.

Is this normal? Never had a husky before and I adopted him after he was going to get sent to the pound. He was roaming for a few weeks before he got picked up but I’ve been taking great care of him since then. Vet said he was healthy but I was petting his hind quarter and a big floof came off in my hand. I was curious so I pulled a little bit at the fur and a bunch just came straight off!

I did some reading and it seems kinda normal in spring/ fall but it’s June. Help please 🙏
