DeAndre Ayton

He looked really good yesterday, actually very engaged and he guarded Giannis really well (don't worry about Giannis' statline which was amazing, dude is a two time MVP. Ayton bothered him a bit at times and was getting rebounds over him a lot).

One of the negatives of tanking is it brings out the worst in some players. I think Simons and Ayton are victims of this, coasting through tanking seasons without really trying. If the team is going to play like they have been the past 2 weeks, I could see a more engaged Ayton and Simons which makes this team actually kind of dangerous.

I still think we need a real star to become a contender, but we have a ton of talent and the team is playing well. We have three good, young guards (Sharpe, Scoot, Simons) and two great, young forwards (Camara and Deni) and two and a half good centers (Clingan, Ayton, RW3). There are some promising other guys as well but that is the core of the team right now, hopefully we pull an Atlanta and get lucky in the lottery and get a top 4 pick because if we do, this team is going to be cooking in a couple years.

Side note, let's say we end up 7-9 in the draft, who do you like in that range? I like Asa Newell I think, dude has amazing size and can already shoot decently (27% ain't great but he is a 6'11" freshman so there is room to build on that) and he is averaging 15-7 as a 19 year old
