difference between the 7900XTX and the 9070 XT

I still don't understand the difference,

If the 9070 XT is going to be better (supposedly) then why buy an XTX now? It's an honest question, I'm not very familiar with AMD cards

And if they are very similar in performace why XTX looks stronger than the 9070XT on paper
