Masters program help

So I don’t know if I still have enough time to apply to a research based masters. My main concern is if I am in a masters program I have to miss a year of applying to med. Am I able to drop out of a masters program if I get in / most seem at least two years long will I be able to finish any so I can use the benefits of doing a masters in this upcoming application. I also only want to apply to uoft masters.
