CAN👏🏼PEOPLE👏🏼STOP👏🏼COMMENTING👏🏼ON👏🏼WEIGHT👏🏼
Seriously. I’m talking about weight gain AND weight loss. Any comments in general!!!
I am 21 weeks today and am down about 20 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight. I had terrible nausea until about 15 weeks, coupled with severe food aversions during that time too. Then when I started to feel less nauseous, I got food poisoning when traveling to Mexico City for work and lost about 5 pounds from that. My MIL made a comment to my husband a couple months ago when he was telling her my doctor might admit me to the hospital for dehydration/nausea that I “shouldn’t be TRYING to lose weight” and “pregnancy is the one time you shouldn’t TRY to lose weight.”
I’m like, ma’am if I could have chosen to not be sick for 15 weeks straight, I would have.
Then today she saw me for the first time since we told her I was pregnant and she said, “You have lost a ton of weight. You really shouldn’t be doing that.”
It’s just really been bothering me and makes me feel like she thinks I’m actively trying to lose weight and harming my baby, when I’m over here just trying to survive. But also, if the scenario was reversed and she was commenting on “too much” weight gain, I’d be equally annoyed.
Anyway, just wanted to rant. Thank you for listening!
