I think it's obvious what's happening here. Rap is in a lull and carti simply does not have the creative genius to push the genre forward in any meaningful way. He does not have an album that justifies the anticipation.

Why is he dropping so many snippets? Testing the waters. Testing new sounds to see what bites. But at the end of the day , carti KNOWS he does not have anything groundbreaking. Nothing new that justifies the wait
