Having an issue when downloading games that makes my PC practically unusable while doing so. Issues include slow and freezing PC apps, bottomed out internet speeds, and maxed out disk.
When downloading most games, my disk will max out at 100%, applications will begin to slow or even freeze, and the internet on just my PC (US Desktop Aegis RS) will bottom out to 0 bytes. When I watch my performance on task manager, I see that my PC slows when my NVMe is at 100%, but there are moments where the disk will suddenly drop back down to less than 10%. When this happens my performance shoots back up, all my apps begin to work again, and my internet speeds skyrocket. This only lasts a few seconds before the disk reaches 100% again, and PC performance drops back down. I also had one rare case where this didn't happen and everything ran just fine while giving me one gig download speeds while downloading a game. I didn't do or change anything out of the ordinary and my PC has since done the same thing on even the same game (Death Stranding Director's Cut on Steam) after deleting and reinstalling it just to test if I'd get the same result. I have a NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti, 13th Gen Intel Core i7-13700F, a PRO Z690-A WiFi (MS-SD25) motherboard, and a NVMe MSI M371 1TB. My internet is 2/gbs and my PC is hardwired into a 5-port unmanaged ethernet switch that is connected directly into the ONT giving me consistent 1 gig speeds until I begin to download anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
