Divorce for oversea Pakistani

I realize this may require specific advice from a lawyer, however turning to Reddit for some generic advice.

My fiancee (F) and I (M) are overseas Pakistanis living in Canada. Both of us are divorced from previous marriages, also in Canada. However my fiancee's previous marriage was also registered in Pakistan, as they got married there. But a talaq or khula was never done in Pakistan.

We would both like to visit Pakistan to see family and for tourism. I am wondering if it will hurt us in any way if she is never formally divorced in Pakistan. The divorce was done long before in Canada so it may be just a formality, however there is concern that her ex may not cooperate in the process.

Any thoughts are welcome. Thank you.
