Problems with accounts on Oracle Cloud.
Hello!
Disclaimer: I know, that there is no priority to Always Free Tier accounts and to their users, however an issue that I describe here is much larger.
To start with, my account was created on Sunday, January 30, 2022. Since then I only used Always Free Tier services. On Wednesday, March 2, 2022, 1:07 a.m. (UTC) my free trial has expired. On Sunday, January 30, 2022, I have created one ARM and one AMD instance. Right now I have only one AMD, but about that later. Of course, I didn’t exceed the limit of Always Free Tier doing that.
A week earlier I tried to get Reserved Public IP on one of my machines. I could not do that. There are docs saying you can get up to 6 Reserved Public IPs on Always Free Tier. A lot of people and Oracle Cloud Support are writing about only 2 R. P. IPs on one account but I provide you a link to the docs: https://docs.oracle.com/en-us/iaas/Content/FreeTier/freetier_topic-Always_Free_Resources.htm
… As Oracle say:‘IP Addresses for Compute Instances
All tenancies get six public IPv4 addresses for Always Free compute instances. You do not have to assign a public IPv4 address to every compute instance in your tenancy. You can create a compute instance in a public subnet without assigning the instance a public IP addresses, and create an instance in a private subnet.“The Error I got when I tried to get Reserved Public IP:
"The following service limits were exceeded: reserved-public-ip-count. Request a service limit increase from the service limits page in the console."
After that, I went to a Support with a Live Agent. They tried to help me but could not because of a lot of reasons, such as Support does not handle Always Free Tier problems, so they said to write a message on forums.Knowing finding support there has a small chance of success, I tried to get Ephemeral Public IP back but I could not either. I got the Error “Ephemeral Public IPs cannot be set”. There still can be people that would say that only 2 IPs are available on the Always Free Tier but It is not true as I said earlier, and this IP was my 2nd IP! Not only it was my 2nd IP, it was not even Reserved Public IP but Ephemeral Public IP.
This problem continued but I know it can be solved easily by recreating an instance, so I did just that. I terminated the ARM instance, so I could try to reassign IP to it. But recreating an instance is impossible with the current problems on the account.
So the next problem appeared. I cannot get any kind of “Shape” (AMD, ARM, Intel, and others) on an instance. I get the error “No shapes are available.” but it can be also interpreted as “Out of Capacity”, however, I believe these are different errors and are not related. That is why right now I have only one AMD instance on my account. Also, I got the Error: "There was a problem selecting a build for Canonical Ubuntu/Oracle Linux 20.04/8. The image might not be compatible with the shape you selected."
The Error: “No shapes are available.” appeared on other people’s accounts with similar problems as I have but their posts on forums are made 3 months ago, in the year 2021 up to this day.
A number of people had similar Errors as “No shapes are available.”, to be certain only 2 people, had this error resolved after some time, 2 weeks of doing nothing with their accounts. But the majority of people have their issues unsolved by this day.

Eventually, I thought that I have no more options but to upgrade to a Paid Account. However, I would like my errors to be solved and keep my account on Always Free Tier since I did nothing wrong during a trial period.
But I cannot upgrade to a Paid Account either!I get the Error: “There was an error loading this page.” when the Oracle Website is loading the page. This time I did not find any similar problem on forums.
“There was an error loading this page.”
To sum up, I guess that Oracle has problems with accounts and these errors are all related to themselves. These problems with the accounts are widespread in the community. Oracle Support on forums doesn’t answer. But the issues and these errors are still present and have not been solved.
I have contacted again (the 2nd time) Live Agent Support with this question. They said that my account has been disabled, and they did not know the reason. Also, they said to wait 24-48 hours, after that my account should be enabled again. However, I have already waited for the entire week for it to be solved, and nothing has happened.
Live Agent did not explain what does "Disabled account" means and how he found out that the account has been disabled because I still have access to my account. So, I found only 3 main errors right now with the account, and I hope when it is enabled they are solved. Those 3 main Errors I described above:
- Reserved Public IPs or Ephemeral Public IPs. Should be 6, or at least 2, on the account.
- Error with "No shapes are available" and "There was a problem selecting a build...".
- Being able to upgrade the account when there is a need to do that in the future
I saw these kinds of errors discussed on Oracle Forum but there are no replies since December 2021, when they were created, to this day. (There were 4-5 topics talking about these issues with no replies.)
P. S. Oracle Cloud does not answer on forums most of the time, that’s why I use other communities to find help.
