OnePlus 13 after 3 Weeks. Is it overrated? Comparison with 9 Pro

Short answer: Kinda, but not really.

Long answer:

I've upgraded from my 9 Pro to the 13 3 weeks ago. I got the 1TB/24GB version in white from tradingshenzen. Maybe I was expecting a little too much, but it didn't feel like such a big jump from my 9 Pro.

The biggest improvement is definitely the camera. The back camera is insane. Really blew me the fuck away. Massive upgrade compared to 9 Pro.

The snapdragon 8 elite also does a good job in doing what it should. Games run smoothly, even at highest setting and it doesn't heat up.

The fingerprint sensor is now an ultra sonic sensor instead of an optical sensor. It works 100% reliably and super fast. Big upgrade from 9 Pro.

Charging is incredibly fast. Massive upgrade here as well. I only charge it to 80% to preserve the battery as long as possible and it gets that done in about 15 minutes if you start charging at 20%. Wireless charging is the same as OP 9Pro at 55W with Airvooc.

AI features are mediocre at best. It's like they put something in just to go with the trend of having something AI related. It can remove objects from images but it's not very reliable. Removing reflections or upgrading an image to 4k with AI doesn't go super smooth. The rest of the AI features is unfortunately in Chinese as it's still running only on ColorOS so I didn't get to test them. I guess it's nice to have them but only the only thing that will come in handy sometimes is removing objects/people from pictures.

The biggest bummer is the battery. 6000mAh is what it says. And I don't doubt that's actually the capacity of the battery. But it drains faster than I expected. Way faster. In reality it doesn't last a whole lot longer than my 9 Pro. Even when it's not used, the battery will drain. I tested how much it will go down during my sleep. About 10% in 8 hours is massive. I don't know what could possibly drain the battery there. I tried again but turned off mobile data, wifi and closed all apps. 8% in 7 hours. At this point I'm considering if that there might be something not right with my OnePlus 13 so if anyone else here knows something let me know.

It's still probably among the best phones right now and for a reasonable price too. I can still recommend it, despite the battery being kind of underwhelming.

Tldr: Camera insane, chip set great, fingerprint perfect, charging fast, ai useless, battery not good
