Visiting Newfoundland

UPDATE: Thank you for your answers and suggestions, I am so happy to already see the friendliness here. And yes I am mostly doing the Eastern part, I have a car reserved already and will do a walking tour in St Johns, plus Cape Spear tour, a whale boat tour in Trinity, the puffins in Elliston and Bona Vista, icebergs in Twillingate, drive back through and stop at Gander and a screech in of course (at Christians)! Y'all have definitely added to my list of restaurants and I appreciate you!

Hello all! I was roaming around with my mouse on Google maps in December and decided impulsively (like most of my actions) to visit Newfoundland. Got it all booked and am very excited, will land in St John's in early June... just looking for cool local businesses to support and also was flabbergasted to realize I booked my vacation to a place that my stupid government suddenly decide to attack for no reason. I want to make sure everyone I meet knows I AM NOT COOL WITH THIS, but should I just play my cards close at first? Thank you in advance!
