Thoughts on The Brutalist?

Saw this last night in IMAX at the Metreon in SF. Film looked gorgeous being shot on VistaVision, the soundtrack was amazing, and the acting from all the leads was great. However, I felt the first half was much better than the second half in terms of pacing and subtlety. Anyone have similar thoughts?

Spoilers below:

I understand the whole rape scene and the metaphor behind it (exerting control, the signs were there all along from Guy Pearce being attracted to Adrien Brody), but it felt a little out of place. Also the whole rape accusation scene and Brody yelling at the construction worker seemed a little forced and a little too on the nose versus the more subtle themes of the first half. I also felt the movie didn't have as satisfying as a conclusion as I hoped with the epilogue and the speech by his niece.
