I finally saw Furiosa. I was underwhelmed and I hate that feeling.
Just finished the movie and I was really bummed at how much time I spent with this film. I feel like it went on too long, some of the CGI was questionable in the very beginning, but most importantly I felt like the movie was more about Chris Hemsworth's character Dementus rather than actually about Anya Taylor Joy's Furiosa. I just didn't feel invested in her character which sucked.
However the action was fantastic, Chris Hemsworth was the absolute standout, and seeing the War Boys in action again was amazing. Also noting George Miller's world crafting, his ability to create a history and lore within this world is something I absolutely loved.
If I had to rate this film I'd give it an 6/10. I hate that I have to rate it so low but I just didn't feel like the magic was there compared to Fury Road. Very underwhelming. And I hate that I feel that way.
Makes me want to watch Fury Road just to remind myself why I love Mad Max in the first place.
