US Motorcycle Theft

Hey guys,

This question is mainly aimed my distant cousins across the Pond in the US.

I'm in the UK and the bike theft here is rife, always worrying about your baby being stolen when going into the shops, or going off for an hour or two to find it gone. It's a constant fear here, and always seeing stuff on social media about bikes being stolen makes us even more nervous.

Is bike theft over there in the US as big as a problem? In my head I feel various gun laws probably put potential thieves off somewhat.
