One thought I keep circling back to is that photorealism isn’t a useful benchmark for image gen anymore. It's been solved, now it’s about what else these tools can do.
Can they push creativity further? Do they enable me to make things I couldn’t dream up in any other medium? Can I use them to tune a vibe, discover new styles, or rapidly iterate through aesthetics and ideas in a creative flow state?
Mimicking reality is useful and practical, but imagining something entirely new, weird and unique is far more interesting.
