I’ve began a new method of studying/ reviewing with Anki, may I get your thoughts?

Hello there, recently, I began splitting up my review sessions throughout the day. Previously, I would spend 4-5 hours every night taking care of all my cards and review. I would often fall asleep during this time, making it not very efficient. Although it worked for me, it was mentally degrading and limited what I could do during the day because I would have to carve out a 4-5 hours chunk (usually after 5pm). So, I have decided to work on my cards throughout the day. In the morning I do all my new cards, throughout the day I do all my green cards, and by the end of the day I do any cards I have left (typically a few green and more red).

I wanted to know if anyone else has tried something similar and has had good results with it? Do you have any pointers on the do’s and don’ts with this method? I’m just a bit nervous using Anki this way. I know only time can tell to see how I do with this new method, but I am so used to sitting down and grinding out the cards for hours. It feels a bit… strange.

I’d like to note that I do not only use Anki, to review and prepare for assignments/exams. I also use the class notes, take my own notes and read the textbook(s).

Thank you!
