Seekins Havak HIT- wow!

I have seen the Seekins growing in popularity and even recommended my friend get one in 6.5 Creedmoor as it fits his needs and desires well. He wanted something for PRS style matches he could shoot in multiple calibers, possibly stick a carbon barrel on to lighten, and wanted a folding stock. The gun seems to be very versatile and can fit a lot of needs.

The rifle is really coming in to its own. I helped him with load development and it is shooting 0.4” groups using 41.5gn of H4350 and 140 ELDM. 2770fps with ES of 16 and SD of 7. The bolt started out stiff but it’s breaking in nicely and is smooth as glass.

My gripes with it are the cheek piece and the grip. I don’t find the angled carbon cheek piece particularly comfortable on conducive to a good cheek weld and it interferes with my ear pro which I have never had that issue on another rifle. The grip is a little too slim for me and doesn’t have great ergos for keeping your thumb on the thumb shelf instead of wrapping around. I believe an MDT adjustable grip will fix it. He wishes it came with a 26 or 28 inch barrel though and I would agree. Aero is doing the same dumb thing with the Solus by not offering longer barrels.

I will also add my new for NRL hunter Tikka CTR is shooting one hole with factory loaded Berger 144s. We are so lucky today to have such great factory offerings.
