Is the cardano formula reliable?

I mean, I’ve seen people pulling three roots from the cardano formula and it just gives one to me, and the result is not even substitutable into the cubic equation because it doesn’t yield zero.

If it’s possible to obtain more than one root, how can I? I wanna see if the other results are conclusive.
