How much customer service is involved as an Underwriter Technical Assistant?
I recently completed an interview for an Underwriting Technical Assistant job at an Insurance company and have a follow up interview for that job tomorrow.
I was wondering how much customer service is involved as an Underwriting Technical Assistant. Are you on the phone a lot, a little, or not at all? I’ve recently graduated college and have worked numerous retail jobs that obviously involved customer service. I’m naturally an introvert so I would like a job that doesn’t require you to talk to customers and or clients at all and just deals with data entry or my computer skills only. Emails are fine to me as long as I don’t have to follow up through phone it’s all good.
Let’s say later down the line I become and Underwriter how much calls do you take as an Underwriter? Is that a lot because I hear it’s more than an assistant.
And if underwriting assistant and underwriting require a decent or significant amount of customer service what job in the insurance industry or just in general would you recommend has as little to no contact with clients through the phone?
