Walking in Jacksonville and almost got ran over a few times

I never walk or cross the road when I don’t have the right of way. I wait for the light changes. But I can’t even count the number of times I am crossing the road and the people turning decide fuck this I’m not waiting and try to intimidate me by driving into me. I have a dog so we do regular walks and the amount of times this has happen is insane. I am new to the area and this on itself makes me dislike it. Just wanted to vent because I just came back from a walk with my dog where that happened. This man was driving eating a slice of pizza looking right at me.
