Mail App notifications

The badge says that I have 113 new emails however I open the app and it says I have like 8…

I switched from Gmail app to apple mail app following iOS 18.2 release because I thought it was good now but clearly it still has problems after all these years. Unless all of these bugs it has been having are new issues that came with 18.2 and could potentially get fixed?
