IIL: Need music recommendations for post-hardcore/emo-adjacent indie rock

Hi! I'm a HS senior currently finishing up my college application process, and I've found that nothing is more motivating than a good dose of self-loathing, LOL. Dark or dejected does it for me. I'm looking for album or song recommendations, if anyone has some!

Background: I really like slow burn stuff so that would be great. Also, I find that bad vocalists are often a turnoff in these genres; not a huge fan of directly emo-styled vocals as they are grating. I'll use "HA", heard all, as an indicator for hearing a band's entire discography.

My favorite albums in the genre:

  • Brand New - Daisy (favs: all) - HA
  • Manchester Orchestra - Mean Everything to Nothing (favs: Shake it Out, I've Got Friends) - HA
  • Microwave- Much Love (favs: Whimper, Wrong, Drown) - HA
  • Colour Revolt- Colour Revolt (fav: Mattresses Underwater)

My favorite albums in SIMILAR genres, although not necessarily what I'm looking for.. You can use these as a point of reference :

  • American Football - LP1 (favs: stay home, honestly?)
  • Turnover - Peripheral Vision (favs: Like Slow Disappearing, Dizzy On The Comedown)
  • Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral (this is hitting. fav: Closer)

My favorite songs in the genre:

  • Microwave- But Not Often, keeping up, Circling The Drain
  • Foxing - Gratitude
  • Brand New - Degausser / Same Logic / Jesus Christ
  • Pedro the Lion - Options
  • Pianos Become the Teeth - Say Nothing
  • As Cities Burn - Contact
  • Cymbals Eat Guitars - And The Hazy Sea
  • Friko - Get Numb To It / Where We've Been
  • Cloud Nothings - Wasted Days
  • Manchester Orchestra - Colly Strings
  • Third Eye Blind - Losing A Whole Year
  • Any screamy QOTSA!

This list isn't definitive, but it's exhaustive: I haven't heard a lot of post-hardcore, honestly.

TL;DR- Any post-hardcore similar to Mattresses Underwater by Colour Revolt?

Thanks!
