Furnace flame keeps shutting off… help??
Hello folks! As a new home owner, I’m trying my best to learn everything I can about our appliances, and recently our furnace decided to give us an error code stating ‘pressure switch cycle lockout’. I’m not opposed to calling a technician, but I’d rather fix it myself if possible.
I opened the furnace up and found that the flame keeps kicking off, as shown in the video here.
I’ve done lots of troubleshooting with no luck, including:
- cleaned the flame sensor (it was very clean, but I cleaned it anyways with steel wool)
- bought a new pressure switch, still get the same error
- nothing appears to be clogging our intake/exhaust, and the angle looks good.
- emptied the condensate trap
- tubes connecting the pressure switch are clear, no clogs or brittle rubber
At this point, I’m unsure if I should try replacing the flame sensor, or if it could possibly be an issue with something else (inducer motor, control board, etc) and I should consider calling an expert. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
