Capacitor question
Homeowner not an electrician or HVAC guy here. Prior cap is rated 35uf 5uf +-6% Only one available today near me was 35uf 7.5uf +-5
Swapped it out, fan spun freely. Thought I was good to go. Buttoned everything up, and turned the unit back on. Was outside watching/listening because the bolts that hold the fan/cover to the body were stripped so it was rumbling loud, but quit when pressure applied to it. Then the fan quit spinning but the compressor still on.
Would that difference in the cap burn the fan motor up?
Edit* I let it sit for a few and turned it on again to see if I needed to tear it back down. And fan started again. But also shut off again after about the same amount of time. Then the humming I could hear seemed to speed up and then heard a squealing and pulled the disconnect asap...
WTF is going on here?
