Revamp - Looking for input/advice
I'm looking to revamp my home lab and trying to decide on new hardware along with any other constructive advice folks may have.
Current Setup: (Under Proxmox: diamonds are LXC, rectangles are VM)
Backups:
All VM/LXCs are backed up to the external drive weekly. There's also a Clonezilla image of the Proxmox boot drive on there that I recreate monthly. Home Assistant is running an add-on to copy backups to Google Drive every three days with a month of retention. I'm not concerned about the media storage.
Things I already have in mind:
- Setup a second Debian host running Portainer to host all the media things (qBittorrent, Plex, Sonarr/Radarr/Overseerr).
- Decom the Win10 box
- Migrate the LXCs to the existing VM running Portainer
I think my biggest concern right now is I'm just about out of options to add storage. I'm migrating the server parts from a cheapo desktop case to a cheaper server chassis to rack mount (Rosewill RSV-R4100U). I've modelled up a replacement front panel to be able to mount the AIO and a third fan on the front and replaced the rear fans. Per the motherboard manual, I've lost 3/6 SATA ports since I'm using all three M.2 slots. So I can only add three more drives before I'm tapped out on connections.
