Mallet Head Progress
I started another mallet head, this time from a relatively clean piece of the same maple. Planning was a joy and taking it from log to mallet head blank was pretty easy. I took about 1.5 hrs to do this vs the 5-6 hours on the other pictured. I think I can safely assume my planes are sharp enough. Pretty close to square, which was good practice since I'm new to this. Definitely had some issues with digging in to one side and not starting my plane flat to the face. I will just have to be careful in the future.
