Should I cancel my trip?

In a couple of weeks my girlfriend and I (both British) are planning on finishing up a two week holiday in India with 5 nights in Goa. We’re splitting our time 50/50 between Palolem and Candolim, staying in “nice” hotels in each. Really we’re just looking to relax at the beach/pool and go for some nice drinks/meals (and maybe going out properly once or twice). We’ll have done Delhi -> Agra -> Jaipur -> Udaipur by this point so will be looking to chill.

However, having read this sub I’m strongly considering cancelling this part of the trip altogether. Everything seems extremely negative whether that’s taxi issues, or problems with locals, or the overcrowding.

Is this sub just a bad representation, or an honest reflection of what it’s actually like there? Am I overreacting?
