This is the third time now that I’ve experienced this sort of thing. For reference, I’m 18 and 5’3.

My family and I went to the Macaroni Grill for dinner yesterday. When our waitress came to bring us to our seats, she asked me if I wanted a kids menu.

A KIDS MENU!!! FOR AGES 12 AND UNDER

I had no idea how to respond ngl. I am legally recognised as an adult, graduated almost 6 months ago, and I literally hold down a full-time job. I haven’t ordered from or even been offered a kids menu since I was 9. BRO.

Another instance of this was a few months ago near Halloween. My mother and I were at Walmart, I wasn’t even trying to pass… and this old lady at the self-checkout asks my mother if it was okay if she could give me a piece of candy. At least she gendered me correctly, but words can’t even begin to describe how shocked I was by that.

The whole idea is really funny to me, I’m not entirely bothered by it (though I don’t really like how people perceive me as a little kid). I just didn’t really think the things I heard were true, but apparently they are! Trying to pass as male, you may end up looking much younger than you actually are 💀
