What are your favorite houses, and how would you describe their DNA?

Feel free to add your least favorites as well.

I'm relatively new to the fragrance world, but here are mine:

I love Mugler, but I don't know what I'm smelling that makes that "Mugler DNA."

I dislike Chanel, which has a particular "perfumey" powder-floral-aldehydic DNA to me.

To me, Swiss Arabian has a plasticky, funky (synthetic oud maybe?), undertone that reminds me of the fake tanner I used back in highschool.
