Food data central download

So I downloaded the USDA database for ingredients back 7 years ago... I wanted to update it and I discovered they changed it

When I downloaded the files in the food data central... I can't make heads or tails of this convoluted mess of csv sheets.

First I want an off line database of ingredients to search ... With no subscription fee etc

Is there a way to make this database work or are there are other databases? I saw fstdesk had one but it seemed to be all online.

I am open to thoughts and suggestions... Not advertising for a paid service.
