What percent of players are actually LTC-focused? (Low Turn Count)?
Low Turn Count gameplay, or LTC, is basically the Fire Emblem community’s premiere self-imposed challenge. I’d argue it definitely beats out Ironmans in terms of popularity.
I’ve always found online discussion around unit viability to be insanely overcentralized around LTC.
I’m not really actively complaining about it- people are free to play & analyze how they like. But what’s the reason for this centralization?
Everywhere you go online, the more “expert” analysis you find will fall into all the familiar trappings of LTC analysis- like supremely high regard for High Mov, Warping, and Dancers.
Obviously, these are all important traits in casual gameplay too, but are utterly game-defining when playing for LTC.
But despite taking up a huge plurality of analysis of game discussion, it doesn’t ever particularly feel like the majority of players are actually aiming to play like this?
Is it simply a matter of LTC players inherently being more invested in the gameplay, and therefore more like to discuss it?
