My boss complimented my makeup today and it absolutely made my day

So I’m a guy and I wear makeup. Disclaimer out of the way.

Anyways, last night I was having a really bad night, my dysphoria was acting up and I started to cry and spent the night having mini panic attacks. All gender related. :/

Well today, I went to work with makeup on, and I asked my boss a question earlier in the day. After our conversation was almost finished, she smiled at me and said she likes my makeup and said I look good. I damn near started crying again, she made me so happy. It was really a small compliment, but I really needed to hear it and I almost teared up thanking her.

Most of the time when people see me in makeup they either don’t say anything or just act disgusted to see a man in makeup. This little compliment really meant the world to me, I actually felt a genuine smile. Little kindnesses really do go a long way sometimes (:
