Recommended places for first time solo travel?

Hi all! I recently resigned from my job & currently searching for a new one. My boyfriend suggested going overseas for a couple of weeks to do a trip, as he thinks it will be a great experience for me. And look for a job when I get back.

It’s probably the only time I will have complete freedom to go, and I definitely have the savings to go.

I’m from NZ, so I’m pretty isolated from the world travelling wise & haven’t actually been to a lot of places let alone by myself. Only like say Australia + the islands w/ friends or family (Fiji, Samoa, etc)

I’m nervous about it, but I’m seriously considering it.

• I’m considering Europe, but have gotten a suggestion of the US as well.

• I would like it to be warm, but not 100% a must really as I believe (might be wrong) that europes summer is in July?

• I’m looking for a place where I won’t totally be out of my comfort zone, so culturally I’m looking for a place somewhat the same as New Zealand. Just for my first trip anyway.
