Basic Appreciation Post

Sorry for my bad english. After three runs on DH2, which I consider the best title in the series I decided to replay the first one and its DLCs. How fucking underrated these games are?!

While narratively they're pretty basic--the concept is nailed, art is beautiful and in terms of gameplay I just can't get enough of it. I'm not a fan of first-person action games overall but my god are these games peak. I think the best aspect of them all is--and not even close, the level design.

It's unbelievable, Harvey stated that among developers they hired architects and industrial designers and well, I can see that. Each area is coherent, perfectly structured and with so many ways to traverse it. House of Pleasure, Boyle Manor, Addermire Institute, Clockwork Mansion, Stilton's Manor, the FUCKING BANK HEIST IN DEATH OF THE OUTSIDER, is it for real? I can't believe I was actually playing those maps, the feeling of prowling up and down, finding escamotages and gaining access to secret areas...I really am speechless.

Put it together with simple yet compelling characters, extremely, mind-blowing badasseness in using the Void's powers to accomplish your goals and you get Dishonored. Personally, Daud and Billie's complex and relationship managed to put them on top, character-wise.

I don't know, none of my friends ever played any of the titles so I needed to tell someone about this...when will we get another Dishonored? If we're going to get one at all...
