Cyber Security Discourse

I am conducting a research paper for school on the discourse of the cyber security community, based on Dan Melzer's definition of discourse. I would love responses from professionals currently working in the field.

a. Have you found that unequal power balances are prevalent throughout your career? Did this feeling decrease as you moved up/around in the field?

b. How has your workplace vocabulary changed throughout your career? Has it changed with each change in job description? Have you found it difficult to keep up with the change in dynamic and expected knowledge throughout your career?

c. What message boards or open-source websites have you found most effective for staying up-to-date and prepared for everyday work?

d. Do you feel as if you are part of THE group of experienced members where you work? When/How did you know you were in that group? Does this group focus on lifting others to the same level? Or is it up to each person to have the initiative/drive to reach that level?

e. If you are familiar with Melzer's criteria for a discourse community, what are your most relevant insights into the discourse of the cyber security community?

I have provided a link to Melzer's "Understanding Discourse Communities" for reference.

Thank you so much!
