2024 Quant Trading Internship Recruiting
Thought I'd share my experience recruiting for qt roles cause most posts on this sub are swe focused. Background - Sophomore at a T10 CS state school majoring in CS but probably graduating early. Did a SWE internship at a shitty company last summer. No math or related olympiads - not even aime :(.
Don't want to state certain companies since the industry is small but I'll say my finals were done at 3 of Jane Street/Citsec/SIG/Optiver/5Rings and I'll make $60k+ this summer.
Overall I think the decision to all in on QT applications saved me since Tech recruiting is a shit show (Didn't pass a single top tech screen). If you're at a good school and reasonably like math I'd recommend looking at trading. Screens are much easier to pass than tech since the number of qualified applicants is smaller and tech is just so rng.
